Lakme Fashion Week – Trend Update with Reliance Trends

I recently visited the Lakme Fashion Week on the 30th of August which was the last day of the season. I have been visiting every season of the Lakme Fashion Week since the age of 16 considering my first internship was at the LFW where I worked as an assistant to a designer. It’s been six years and twelve seasons of fashion weeks for me. Fashion Week has become an emotion, a week of excitement and fatigue and obviously an excuse to shop.
This season, Reliance Trends invited me to come watch their show in association with designer Tarun Tahiliani. What’s more? I no longer had to search my wardrobe for clothes. Reliance gave me the opportunity to shop my outfit for the show from their store!
I visited the store a week prior to the show and stuffed my shopping bag with end number of clothes. I was so impressed with Reliance’s Winter/Fall collection since it had the right colors and fabrics for the coming season. I could not have been more happy with the choice I made.

I chose this polo neck tank top with a high waisted knee length skirt. Well, since it is the Winter/Festive season, dark solid colors like black and oxblood are a must! The minute I spotted the oxblood subtle knit printed skirt, I knew I had to get my hands on it. I love how this outfit gives me a feminine yet an edgy look!

The week passed by and I was at the Palladium Hotel (now – St.Regis Hotel) for the show. I seated with the other bloggers and was all set to see what Reliance Trends and Tarun Tahiliani had in store for us.
We’ve all seen models strutting the ramp wearing the best of clothes. This time, the models got ready on the ramp for the ramp. Yes, you read that right. A full length mirror, a stack of clothes, accessories and shoes were set at the ramp.

‘Easy Glamour’ along with Dramatic silhouettes was the theme of the show. Hues of reds, oranges and blacks with colorful tribal detailing along with innovative drapes were spotted. Fierce, Bold and Powerful are the right words that once can use to describe the collection. Also, comfort was highly emphasized with models strutting in flat footwear with relaxed hands in their pockets.
The ever-so-fabulous Chitrangada Singh was the show-stopper in an all black ensemble with gold floral detailing and fringes on her slit jacket.
