What I Wore to Lakme Fashion Week 2015

Another season of Lakme Fashion Week has ended and I couldn’t wait to show you all what I wore to the most stylish and glamorous event of the year. Being a fashion blogger, there is a certain kind of pressure to look stylish. This season, I jumped out of my comfort zone and wore an oversized shirt, floral prints and experimented with my hair. What's more? I went from street style to sporty and feminine covering all kinds of trends just for you all.

5 years ago when I first interned at the Lakme Fashion Week, little did I bother about what I was wearing. Overtime, I realized that designer outfits and layering could get you into Vogue and Elle’s fashion week coverage. Hence, for the past 3 seasons, I started focusing on what I wore; considering I had to keep up with the ‘blogger reputation and standard.’ This season, I planned to keep it comfortable and summery with light fabrics and textures. Yes, layering and accessorizing is key to get you into POPxo’s Street Style Section. But, you need to chose your fabrics wisely, considering the heat in Mumbai. Also, isn’t summer supposed to be all fun and floral?

Secrets Every Girl SHOULD Know

Gone are the days when shopping lingerie was an intimate and personal affair. The lingerie sphere has revolutionized itself with brands focusing on providing quality and variety. In spite of the online shopping boom, women hesitate to purchase lingerie online. Why? Firstly, they are not sure of their size and secondly, women still want to try and buy. Well, for the best steals, I tend to shop my lingerie online. With various categories and types of lingerie you must have never heard of, you are bound to get confused and shut the laptop and visit a local retailer. Fret not! Here are a few key terms you should know of before you starting shopping your lingerie online :

Seamless – A seamless bra is free of seams i.e a seam is a visible line when you join or stitch two pieces of fabric. A seamless bra comprises of a molded cup with just a teeny tiny piece of fabric almost making the stitching invisible.

Balconette – A balconette bra is suitable for low cut dresses when you want to flaunt your cleavage. It is a half cup bra that enhances the breasts in a balcony or ‘U’ shape. They are similar to DEMI Bra's.

Convertible – A convertible bra can be transformed by rearranging its detachable straps in different ways.  A convertible bra can be converted into a racer back or a criss cross bra with the shoulder straps coming into a ‘V’ or ‘X’ shape.

Push Up – Push Up Bra’s use padding material that is centered around pushing or lifting the breasts inwards together, thereby accentuating the cleavage.

Minimizer – A Minimizer bra makes large breasts appear smaller by an inch or two since it provides full support. Buy a minimizer when you want to get into a tight dress that no longer fits.

Underwire – Underwire bra’s provided firm support by placing a metal or plastic wire under each bra cup.

Sports – For all those intense cardio sessions at the gym or during a vigorous zumba routine, a sports bra keeps your breasts in place and prevents them from shifting.

T-Shirt – T-shirt bra’s are not only meant for your tight tee’s but also for bodycon dresses. They may or may not be padded but are slightly lined.

Bandeau – A bandeau is like a tube i.e. a cloth band covering your breasts which provides very little support and almost no shape. There are no shoulder straps involved in a bandeau.

Thong – A Thong only covers the front thereby exposing your rear. Thongs are great when you want to wear jeggings or leggings.

G – String - A G-string can be worn to avoid panty lines since it comprises of a string that passes through your hips and a thin piece of fabric runs through your buttocks.

Bikini - A two piece swimsuit that you have generally seen in most of the Bollywood/Hollywood movie's.

Brief – Brief’s are the safest. They cover the back and the front uptil your navel. Consider it like high waist underwear.

Hipster – A Hipster is a low waist panty that only covers the hips. When you are wearing a really thin fabric skirt and want to hide those panty lines but still be comfortable, wear a hipster panty.

Boyshorts : Consider them like a Push Up Bra but for your Ass!

I purchased some really cute and printy lingerie from PrettySecrets.com that fit me like a glove. I was hesitant to buy online due to the utter size confusion. But, with the right size chart and measurement, I figured a way, took the leap and bought lingerie online for the first time!
