Name: Malvika Sitlani
Nationality: Indian
Profession: Fashion Model

Agencies:
Mezora Talents
Milestones: Femina Style Diva 2013,  Femina cover page 2014, runway shows for designers J.J Valaya and Shyamal & Bhumika.
Current location: Mumbai, India.
How did you start modeling?
I knew what I wanted to do since the age of 4. My parents were models and so I guess modeling runs through my blood. I first applied for Femina Miss India 2012 and that’s where I got the kind of exposure I needed. The following year I was the titleholder of Femina Style Diva 2014, which led me to the Femina cover page this year. I started getting noticed and went on to do runway shows for top designers.
What does your career do for you?
My career gives me the opportunity to meet so many amazing people from all around the world. It gives me an understanding of so many different cultures. It gives me a sense of independence. It makes me want to work harder every single day of my life.
What’s your most memorable shoot?
The Femina Cover shoot – Every minute that I was on set I had to pinch myself to actually realize where I’m at. I never thought I would be on a cover of one of the most prestigious magazines at the age of 21. I got to wear amazing outfits - top brands like Armani.
The most memorable moment of that shoot was to see the happiness in my parent’s eyes. I think that was the moment I realized that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
It can help people who are new in this industry like me to understand the life of a model. It can connect us to multiple people around the world who have the same vision. It makes me happy to see that we’re all in this together like one happy family! :)
Who do you admire and would you like to meet?
I admire Tyra Banks and would absolutely love to meet her someday. I’ve grown up watching her interviews, runway shows etc. According to me she is the perfect definition of a supermodel. She teaches us that to make it big in modeling industry you have to learn to appreciate yourself just the way you are and I think that has helped me immensely.
What’s your favorite book/film/music?
I love the 50 shades of Grey trilogy by E.L James as well as The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
One of my all time favorite movie is The Intouchables.
I love pop music..! Also current favorite artists are Meghan Trainor, Sam Smith, Coldplay.
What’s your beauty regime?
Every day workout, using a mild neem facewash at intervals (Girls, biggest secret for clear skin is any neem based product!) moisturizing my body every time, drinking lots of water.
Most importantly I remove every bit of make up before sleeping; it keeps me looking fresh the next day.
And what is the one beauty product you can’t live without?
People who know me know that I have this undeniable love for make up!

If had to pick;
Favorite Red Lipstick would be Rouge Allure by Chanel
All time favorite moisturizer is Nivea Body Milk
L’Oreal Telescopic mascara

What are your favorite hang out spots in the city you live in (current location)?
Mumbai has some really amazing hangout spots like Asilo at Palladium Hotel. It’s a beautiful rooftop lounge with dim lights and the perfect setting.
Irish House, Phoenix and Starbucks to name a few.

What is your favorite city and where do you like to hang out there?
London, Las Vegas and New York City..!
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
You will always feel that somebody else is better than you. But the day you start accepting your body as it is and start loving yourself for exactly the way you are is the day you will become a better model. When you start appreciating yourself I promise you, you will never be insecure ever again in your life. Yes, there is a lot of competition in this industry but always always stay true to yourself and be the best that you can be! Work with what you have and make your mark.

What are your plans for the future?
I’d like to focus on modeling fulltime. I want to travel around and work internationally as well.

Dreams of Cupcakes and Stylish Closets

We spend hours and hours searching for the right product at the cheapest bargain on every possible online shopping sites. To add to our trouble, we often order our products from two to three online shopping sites which deliver according to their time preference and distinct shipping charges. Wasn’t online shopping invented to save us some trouble and make it time efficient? It does not seem so!

For someone who cannot go on for a week without not shopping, I needed a more efficient and accessible online shopping site that not only caters to my style but also to my wallet.

In 2011, when Facebook was “the thing” and we kept on liking more and more pages, I came across Cupcakes and Closet’s Facebook Page. I was highly impressed with their colossal sense of style and outfits which were updated every week. Since, online shopping was not accepted easily at that time, I did not purchase anything from C & C. Although, I did stalk their Page and stalk their outfits in admiration.

2014 is coming to an end and with online shopping being more easily accepted, C & C has turned itself from a Facebook Page to an online shopping website.

Here’s what I love love love about C & C:

-  -New Outfits Updated Every Week

-  -They hold a weekly giveaway for their Facebook Page

-  -Free Shipping

-  -Cash on Delivery Option

-  -Easy Layout with Well defined categories

-  -Gift Card Option

-  -My favorite section is the SALE section

-  - Oh and their name! Don’t we all girls like clothes and some guilty free cupcakes? ;)

-  -Menswear Section too

Here’s how I styled my Cupcakes and Closet navy blue dress :
A little bohemian vibe with my feather earrings yet the christmas-y feel with a red waist belt.

Santa Claus is coming to Town!

Winter is here! Yes, for the people who get up early in the morning and walk around the town in the morning and late evenings, they do feel the chills. With the party season around the corner, we all want to slip into our favorite dresses and high heels and party the night away. Although, it is a little romantic and cheesy to ask your guy for his leather jacket when you feel cold, I’d like to think otherwise. We do not live in the states where guys would wear a sharp leather jacket – Most of them do not even know to layer their outfits. So what do you do if it gets cold? The answer lies in the timeless and stylish Trench Coat that is bound to keep you warm. Wear it over your outfit or simply button it up for a sophisticated look.

Even though I would love to take my crop top out for a spin, I cannot wear a crop top in the winter unless I shiver to death. I chose to wear a buttoned up Trench Coat from StalkBuyLove.com over a Sequined Skirt from StalkBuyLove too. Also, for all the rickshaw rides back home, I need my Ear Muffs from Youshine by my side. FYI, you all should check out the Ear Muff collection at Youshine. So adorable and cute, you have to get your hands on them! Plus, they are budget friendly and comforting. I Heart my Heart Ear Muffs! <3 br="">
Take cue from how I paired up my outfit and emulate it for the Christmas as well as for New Year's Eve. In case, you end up partying till the morning, you need a classy pair of sunnies from Fancy Pants to hide those red sore eyes.

December Decode + MEGA Giveaway

We came, we saw, we wore and now we are off to another year of impeccable style and makeup. Every year, the fashion and beauty arena changes and isn’t it amazing how quickly we adapt to it? Well, It is Mid December already and I am not ready to bid 2014 goodbye; So, here’s a round up of what 2014 gave us and how you can GET THE LOOK:

Style :
1. Metallic tattoos : What are they? Silver and gold foiled body art tattoo’s that are meant to look like artificial jewellery. They are temporary tattoo’s that take 30 seconds for application and last for over a week. These shiny tattoo’s were spotted on the Bootylicious Diva Beyonce when she was boarding a private jet. Here’s a simple DIY to make your own foil tattoo : Draw the layout of your design with L’oreal’s Frosted Silver Eye Liner and spray some Hair Spray on it and let it dry! It should stay for 4 days or so.

2. Statement Jewellery : Body chains are dainty and ladylike that can instantly enhance your flattering figure. I personally feel they should be worn on solid colored crop tops to attract attention since they are very thin and delicate. Also, body chains are best worn under shirtless suits and over bikinis. Want a more unconventional touch? Try Maang Tikka’s in the style of Mohawks’, Hand Harnesses and Ear Cuffs.

3.  Power Dressing : SUIT UP WOMEN! Workwear just got more bold with shirtless suits and bold colors and prints. Not only were international celebrities like Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift seen in this trend but also, our very own Bollywood beauties carried off this trend with immense style and sophistication.
PD

4. Co ordinates : Matching your tops to your bottoms are known as coordinates. Coordinates basically solve the exhausting dilemma of What to wear? Mix and Match? Nah. Match and Match is the new rule. Either the color, the print or the fabric should be similar to be called as coordinates.

Makeup :
1. Metallic Touches – A less dramatic alternative to smokey eyes is the metallic eye trend which consists of the same flirty charm to add intensity and dimension to your eyes. Get the metallic look by lining the inner corners of your eyes with L’oreal Eye Liner 112 Frosted Silver and dap some clear gloss on your eye lids for a subtle day time look. For immediate attention to those eyes, especially when you are out there partying the night away, add a sultry touch of Infallible 15 Flashback Silver eye shadow with the tip of your finger.

2.Bold Lips – Go Bold or Go home! Yes, experiment a little and swap those shades of nudes and pastels and with bold tones of red, fuschia and oxblood. Get the look with L’oreal Paris’ Infallible Forever Fuschia 138 and Charismatic Coral 421

3.Bare Minimum – You know what is better than makeup? To look like you’ve got no makeup on and garner those “You look so natural” compliments! Get the natural and fresh no makeup look with the True MatchLiquid Foundation. Accentuate those eyes with L’oreal Paris’ Volume MillionLashes Mascara and a hint of Kajal Magique. Here’s a tip – Blend Blend Blend till you achieve perfection!

Bare Minimum

4. Sombre Hair – Ombre is overdone and over-hyped. It’s time for Sombre i.e Soft Ombre. Sombre is more subtle as the light color evenly blended and textured throughout your hair. Ask your hairstylish to blend L’oreal Paris' Excellence Creme Natural Dark Brown and Natural Light Brown for a natural looking sombre!

Now that you know what 2014 has been all about, let's talk something more delicious for the makeup fanatics!

*Warning : Major sentimental rants coming your way :P*

When I started blogging a year back, I did not realize I would make it this far. This one year has been a major ride ; not a roller coaster one though. Not even for a moment did I ever think of stop writing. Know why? Being an eternal optimist, I used to believe that there is at least one person somewhere reading my blog and I am ready to pass on my knowledge to that one person.

The past one year got me on TV and press, socialized with other bloggers and collaborated with major brands.

I am so grateful to the readers I randomly meet at events or while traveling. To those who send me emails appreciating my blog posts, commenting on my blogs and those who loyally stalk me on Instagram and Twitter. And not to forget those who criticize me and send hate comments. Although, the criticism does hurt, but, I have learned to take it positively and started appreciating the brighter side and the impact I create on my readers.

Also, a big thanks to my parents and friends who I keep irritating and ask them to share my blog posts on their social media platforms too.

Here's what I am wearing today :
An adorable top from Fancy Pants and a Tutu Skirt from Fendi in Bandra and accessorized my outfit with this quirky mustache earring from Youshine

Want to see more of my craziness with my TUTU Skirt? Log onto Youtube and subscribe to my channel - Sarika Nagdeo :)

P.S. I think I might have danced a little too. Well, after a year of hard work, I deserve to twirl in my TUTU without any judgements right? ;)

Guinness Record by Himalaya Herbals

Himalaya Herbals – India’s leading herbal health and Personal Care Company with more than 200 products ranging in every possible category entered the Guinness Book of World Records. Are you thinking for their wide number and range of products? Nah. They accomplished a world record of 286 people receiving a facial simultaneously. Now, how awesome is that?

The event was conducted at Vile Parle with a number of students from the nearby college’s enthusiastically registering themselves to get a facial. The 1:1 Ratio was highly impressive as every student was dealt with a personal beautician.
The stage was so grand that I had to use Panaroma for capturing it

The facial was demonstrated in detail by Beauty Expert Veena Desai who instructed and provided the benefits of using Himalaya and tips on how to have a problem free skin.

The facial started by cleansing the face and then leading onto toning and moisturizing. Carefully instructed by Veena Desai who made sure the beauticians only use their finger tips and restrain from using their palm that can exert force on the skin. After the CTM procedure was completed, the students were applied Himalaya’s Purifying Neem Pack that cleans clogged pores and prevents the recurrence of Pimple’s.

Once the face pack came off, the students felt rejuvenated and could feel that their skin was much more softer and cleaner.

Actor Shraddha Kapoor of Aashiqui 2 Fame presented the Guinness Book of World Record Certificate to Mr. Rajesh KrishnaMurthy, Business Head – Consumer Products Division, The Himalaya Drug Company.

“Completing a record for the maximum number of facials is an exciting initiative to be part of. As we congratulate the brand on this achievement, it is also important to follow the message of a regular skin care routine. A healthy regimen must consist of cleansing, toning and moisturizing followed by using products that are healthy and natural. All these aspects were clearly demonstrated by Himalaya today.” Says Shraddha.
