Challenges Faced by Fashion Girls who GYM

Fashion girls are deemed to be drama queens. We nag, bitch and we JUDGE! When a newbie Fashion Girl works out, there are quite a lot of things going on in her mind and here's a list of some of the common problems faced by her :

1. You just washed your hair today and it’s all sweaty after this workout.

2.When is Cheat Day???

3.  Doing Cardio - Are they staring at my breasts? Maybe I should keep my hands a little together and keep my hair on one side.

4. Oh Em Gee!!! Hot guy ALERT! And you are a sweaty mess! Where is the MAKEUP?

5. Keep Going! Keep Going! You need to burn that stuffed cheese crust pizza you had last night!

6. Shit! The trainer just saw you cheating your elliptical resistance level! "Please don’t come here… Please don’t come here!"

7. Wearing a Sports Bra so much that your Lacy Victoria’s Secret Bra misses you.

8. Do you mind not staring when I am stretching? It’s not a sexual position so please stop!

9. When your brain instantly dances to ‘Don’t you wish your girlfriend’

10. How many months is it going to take me to look like her?

11. Oh shit! I forgot to get a rubber band to tie my hair.

12. Ewwww... I'm smelling so bad!

Types of People you meet at the GYM

It's been two weeks at the Gym and to be honest, I am kind of loving it. Firstly, going to the gym does not mean you are going to loose weight. For me, working out is helping me increase my body strength and regain my stamina. Well, two weeks is too soon to claim any results. So in these two weeks, here are the types of people I met at the GYM:

1. The YO YO Honey Singh Fans : Both, the men and the women at the Gym seem to love singing and exercising to Yo Yo Honey Singh Songs. Apparently, his beats motivate them to do more cardio. Though I have no idea how 'Mere Mehboob Kayamat Hogi' (a typical slow devdas type song) by Honey Singh motivates them :P

2. The Trainer who flirts with you : While you are walking on the treadmill, he seems to look at how you walk and initiates the conversation with “What do you do?”  which then leads to “So you come to the gym in the morning, are you busy in the evening?”
3.  The chatterbox aunty : “Beta, why you joined the gym? You are so thin! Look at me, I can’t even loose a kg”
4. The Selfie Obsessed : I usually keep my cell in my bag unlike people who carry it and click selfies of themselves while doing cardio.  Also, not to forget, they do check in at the gym and if you are friends with them on Facebook, you will be TAGGED!
5.  The Newbie: The Newbie is the person who has just joined the gym and can’t figure out what to do and how to use the machine. Guilty as charged! For the first three to four days, I used to struggle with the machines. I had to always politely ask someone to change the weights for me.
6.  The girl who coordinates her tight yoga pants and sport bra with her shoes : Everything she wears and carries including her Phone cover and bag is ‘matchy-matchy’
7. The couple who work out together: They enter the gym hand in hand and engage in public display of affection between sets.
8. The Hairy Guy : The guy who wears really short football shorts and sleeveless jersey’s and displays the inner Anil Kapoor in him. Also not to forget the terrible body odor!
9. The Mr. Know it All : The Know it is not an employee or a trainer but still he tries to correct your posture and gives you advice while you are working out.
10. The Over Achiever : I get it that you’ve got biceps bigger than the trainer and being in shape is achievement. But why won’t you get off the machine? I have been waiting for 10 minutes now! The Over Achiever keeps working out and occupies the machine till you leave the gym.

GAS Jeans India Store Launch

GAS Jeans, a leading premium apparel and denim brand launched its Flagship store at High Street Phoenix, Lower Parel yesterday. I consider myself lucky to have been a part of their 30th anniversary celebration and the store launch hosted by them.
As I entered High Street Phoenix, GAS' bright and white led store lighting was the center of attraction of the mall. Being a specialist in denims, they've got a size for anyone and everyone. No more alterations or fussiness about not getting the perfect fit. Also, GAS' autumn/winter '14 collection for the men and women is perfect for the winter season with puffy jackets, knitwear and cozy tee's that make you want to cuddle and never get out of bed.
At the event, the bloggers were given an opportunity to personalize their denims and style a look from their collection.
I chose to stick to the basic blue denims that fit me like a glove and then, worked my way up with a printed graphic tee under a rusted blend of oxblood and blue denim jacket.
The DIY counter caught my fancy where one could fabric paint, distress, heat transfer or stitch to customize their denim jeans. With a variety of options to choose from, I wanted to experiment with the heat transfer. A quick and easy peasy process that uses the heat of the iron to transfer images or studs onto your fabric.
Well, I had my share of fun at the upbeat and high on energy event yesterday and I wanted to share it with you all too.
So here are a few exclusive pictures from the event :

Get it White!

For those who have been following me on Instagram know that White has started to become my favorite color. Why? The Pristine color adds sophistication and class to your ensemble instantly! Plus, I love to experiment with style; One day I could go over the top with sequins and clashing prints and another day one would see me wearing a minimalistic khadi dress.

The White on White trend has recently caught my fancy and I couldn’t wait to try it. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian have been spotted carrying off this trend effortlessly and with elegance.

Here’s how I paired my White on White for a day at Work :

I used my Stalk Buy Love Van der Woodsen Jacket as a closed zipper top with Stalk Buy Love’s Red Piped White Trousers. Now, for those who aren’t sure of what accessories to wear, here’s an easy peasy cheat trick ;) Find a common color in your outfit. For example, since my zipper was gold, I paired up my Gold cuff and geometric shaped earrings from Youshine. If you notice, the accessories have a common theme too – Geometric cut out shape.

Here are a few other ways of carrying the all white trend :
-Pair your white palazzo pants with a basic white tank and top it off with a sharp white blazer at work.
-Pair your white mesh crop top with your white skort and add class with red stilettos for a party.
-Power dress yourself with a white blazer on top of white wide legged trousers.

Hand Cuff and Earrings-
Ring - DIY
Heels - Catwalk
Cat Eye Sunnies - Linking Road.

By Sophia van Sorgen for Modellist ID

It’s important to keep the ph-level of your body balanced. Every morning I start my day with a glass of hot water with freshly squeezed lemon juice and a teaspoon of baking soda. It’s a great way to alkalize your body and to get rid of toxins.

You really should consider lemons as best friends when it comes to your health. They help you detox in many ways: their antimicrobial effect treats bacterial and fungus infections, they battle with internal parasites (and most of the time, they win), they have a positive effect on the nerve system, they regulate blood pressure, stimulate the lymph flow and are rich in vitamin c. And that is amongst many other things. And in combination with baking soda you’ll have team of champions to clean and nourish your body from the inside, as baking soda is also alkalizing and detoxifying.

So start your day with a big glass of lukewarm water with the juice of one lemon and a teaspoon of baking soda. Make sure you wait half an hour before you drink or eat anything else so the body can really absorb all the goodness from this powerful drink.

Dandruff In Winter??

I do not know about where you’ll reside, but it is extremely hot in the day in Mumbai. Although, it does get colder at night and I can feel winter coming soon. Come winter and our skin is prone to dryness. Not only does our skin experience dryness but also does our scalp. Dryness of the scalp leads to dead cells which form tiny white flakes that fall on your shoulders which is commonly known as Dandruff.

Here’s an honest life story of mine : I had dandruff when I was in the 6th standard and I particularly got annoyed with the constant white flakes on my black outfits. My mother noticed my agitation and took me to a hair specialist who then treated my dandruff with lazer which was apparently supposed to last a lifetime. But, guess what? It did not!

Just a few months ago, dandruff started surfacing my hair again. I did not want to face embarrassment especially in college or at shoots. After careful research and an enormous time spent on Google trying to find out the best product to treat dandruff at the earliest, I found the solution – Matrix Biolage’s Anti- Dandruff Shampoo.

I could not find Matrix Products at the mall and had to buy them from my nearest salon. Priced at 195 rupees for 200 ml, it was a bargain! I applied the shampoo solely twice and sometimes thrice a week and within a month, the dandruff disappeared. Quite quick results no?

The packaging is not colorful but well, who cares if the content works right? The bottle comes in a flip open cap and consists of a white liquid which foams pretty well.

Here I am, not trying to boast about this product but asking you all to go try it as prevention to Dandruff as well as a CURE.

Fashion Blogger Problems Part Deux

Yes we fashion bloggers are humans too just like you but with better clothes. Little harsh maybe? But that’s what we are here for! To help you dress your best and look your best. When I sit to write a post, I do not google or undertake any particular research before writing. My blogposts are inspired by my day to day surroundings. But, apart from blogging we do face problems in getting that content across to you.

1. Changing clothes in a moving  Car. Sometimes, even in a taxi!

2. Whaaaatt?? You got paid? The same brand did not even pay me!

3. An event in Goregaon? That’s so far yaaa..

4. Trying out new products to review and getting a reaction.

5. Before going on a vacation, you need to schedule your blogposts and social media posts.

6. Bloggers work on weekends too. We have no holidays.

7. The stare you get when people see you clicking pictures of your shoes.

8. Slow internet or No wifi at Public Places for #LiveTweeting or Instagramming

9.  Writers Block just when you are nearing a deadline

10. Emotionally attached to clothes, shoes or accessories even if it no longer fits you.

11. Fashion Nazi - When you see someone wearing the ugliest clothes, you can’t help but correct them. I remember saying this to my really close friend “Me : What the hell are you wearing?? She : Everything is from Forever21. Me : F21 does not have ugly clothes. Is it just you or your style sense?”
So yes, we are humans too just like you. Whoever I am today is because of my blog and I would never want to part with it.
