What’s a movie character without stylish clothes? Be it Hollywood, Bollywood or even Tollywood for that matter, NEEDS a STYLIST. Here are some of the must watch stylish movies we can’t stop obsessing about:
The Devil wears Prada : Before making it big as a fashion editor or director, you need to go through the big bad world of internships. The movie is all about the people who walk, talk and breathe fashion. The Devil (Editor) wore Prada while the intern wore Dolce and Gabbana. Yes. You read that right.
Confessions of a Shopaholic : A shopaholic girl who is stuck in credit card debt due to her luxurious retail therapy trips. Like any other fashion obsessed girl, she loves SALES. She freezes her credit card and goes for shopaholic anonymous meetings to get rid of her shopping habit. We would love to raid Rebecca Bloomwood’s closet someday.
Sex and the City Part 1 and 2 : Carrie and fashion go hand in hand. She would rather spend money on Vogue than eat dinner. Carrie has literally taught me anything and everything about fashion. Do not skip watching this movie and if you’ve already watched it, why not watch it again? ;)
27 Dresses : 27 Bridesmaid Dresses in one rom-com. Period. This movie teaches you the best and the worst style choices a bridesmaid can make.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s : When you think of stylish movies, how can Breakfast at Tiffany’s be avoided? Audrey Hepburn looked elegant yet chic with her little black dress and strings of pearls adorned on her back. How amazing is that? Although Audrey’s reel life was in a mess, she remained prim and proper when it came to her costumes. Bright overcoats, parkas and statement accessories ruled this film right till the end.
The September Issue : A stylish documentary about Vogue and the very influential Anna Wintour. The most educational and inspirational movie for budding fashionista’s.
Lolita : I aspire to be Lolita. She’s 14 years old and her key pieces are now vintage and in vogue.
Pretty Woman : A romantic comedy where Vivian, a hooker meets the rich business tycoon Edward and they eventually fall in love. Here are some of the costumes we are lusting after – The Scarlet gown and the polka dotted dress.
Aisha: Indian and international designs were sourced for Sonam Kapoor’s character in the Bollywood movie Aisha. In the movie, she is played the role of a South Delhi girl who loves to wear branded labels and of course, she loves to shop! Oh, and did we mention, she has a Walk – in closet. We are eyeing the mint green Chanel suit dress worn with a jacket.
