New and Improved Garnier Fructis Review

The Love Long Hair blind test challenge created quite a buzz amongst all bloggers and followers. Finally, after all the waiting, the Love Long Hair mystery was unveiled. The small white bottle contained of Garnier Fructis' New and Improved Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner.

I was quite surprised when I got to know that it was Garnier since Dove and Sunsilk usually indulge in creative brand promotions.Well, anyways Kudos to you Garnier!

Well, I can already feel the scorching heat on my scalp and I am afraid of the damage it will cause to my hair. Instead of wearing all those scarves and bandana's on your head to prevent hair breakage, try switching to a new shampoo and conditioner instead.
I have been a frequent user of the Garnier range. In fact, most of my cosmetics are from Garnier. I don't really notice a drastic change in the New and Improved range. Better packaging? Colored liquid? Was expecting for something more!

The new and improved Garnier Fructis is priced at 130 rupees for 175 ml. (Budget check.)

Call me weird, but I prefer the cute white bottle packaging to the green bottle!

For me, more than the attractive brand packaging, the fragrance of a shampoo and conditioner matters the MOST! Garnier wins the fragrance title for me! :D

I really like the fact that the shampoo and conditioner compliment each other very well.

The only noticeable con to it is that it does not lather up well.

Garnier Fructis sticks to it's tagline - Take Care. It has indeed taken care of our long locks! Thank you Garnier :)

P.S.- Thank you for the square hair brush

What to wear to a Fashion Week

It’s Lakme Fashion Week time and every season we tend to ask ourselves the ultimate question standing in front of our wardrobes “What should I wear?” Deciding what to wear to a Fashion Week is major dilemma we all suffer from. My first internship was at the Lakme Fashion Week four years ago. I was 15 when I was exposed to all the backstage glitz and glamour. “This is my Playground” I said in my mind. I have been around the fashion block for quite some time now, so I’d like to assume that I somewhat know what to wear to a Fashion Week. Here’s a budget girls guide on what to wear to a fashion week:

P.S.- PopXo is hosting the Style of Wall at the Main Show Area where the best dressed people would be featured. Hence, Dress to Impress PopXo. ;)

Rock that LBD: A little black dress is a savior when it comes to a cocktail party, a formal dinner or even a Fashion Week. Don’t overdo the staple LBD with lots of jewelry. Keep it simple yet sexy. It’s a fashion week not a club. Add a pop of color to your outfit with a bright hued bag or heels.

Crop it Up: It not even Summer and we are already feeling the Mumbai heat. Tone up your stomach and flaunt your abs and belly with printed crop tops and bustiers. Take a cue from fashion bloggers Kanika Karvinkop and Aanam Chasmawala. If you are too conscious to show off your stomach, invest in high waist pants.
Layer your accessories: Layer chains of different textures and sizes together. Statement necklaces have the ability to upgrade any dull outfit. Period. Stack up different colored chunky bangles for a bohemian look. If you are planning to wear a backless outfit, invest in back jewelry. Back jewelry has recently become popular that can jazz up your backless maxi dress.
Go Indian: Who said you could wear only western outfits to a fashion week? Stick to your Indian roots and opt for a printed saree with eye popping colors. Masaba seems to be a favorite when it comes to printed sarees! Malini Agarwal looks gorgeous in her Masaba saree.

Go Bizarre Boys: Yes, Bizarre is beautiful. Colored chinos, audacious printed blazers, studded leather jacket or over the top parkas, they all seem to work in favor of the men at fashion week. Get ridiculous and throw separates together in a stylish way.

The Blind Test Review Part One

Good things come in small white bottles

I used the Love Long Hair Shampoo and Conditioner for one hair wash.
To test the waters, I applied oil the night before and washed it early in the morning. Unlike other shampoos and conditioners, the liquid is really thick and manages to wash away all the oil and dirt. Whether it is a shampoo, conditioner or a hair masque, runny liquid tends to give a cheap impression to the users.
Also, it doesn’t lather up well which is possibly the only minus point. A shampoo that lathers up well washes away the dirt and oil easily and quickly. I had to apply the shampoo twice to get rid of the oil.
I have a really oily scalp with dry hair. Weird right? But, the shampoo controlled the frizz and oil for two days which is quite good!
Apart from all the benefits, I was really pleased with the fragrance of the shampoo and conditioner. To be honest, I kept sniffing it like a dog in the bathroom. Thumbs up for the fragrance!
It is too soon to say whether my hair has become stronger or no. Stay tuned for the second detailed review and brand revelation!

The Blind Test Challenge!

"Long hair is a security blanket for me. I cut it short a few years ago and I really never want to do that again. When I do cut it, I cut it myself " said Alanis Morissette

Don't we all regret those short Sadhna cuts we had in school?Well, I do! Since then, I have always feared of cutting or experimenting with my long locks.

A parcel arrived at my doorstep today. To my surprise, it was a plain white bottle of a shampoo and conditioner along with a mysterious note. The white colored bottles were labelled 'Love Long Hair'. The note said "..... A Hair Care Range that makes you Love your Long Hair. Go ahead and try it for yourself." I flip opened the cap to smell the fragrance of the shampoo and conditioner that left me in a big dilemma. But it indeed smelled great! Curiosity is the mother of great inventions. This product has definitely left me curious regarding the brand.
Often, branding and attractive packaging leads to biased reviews that blind the reader. Yes, to be honest, we all are brand loyalists in some way or the other. Hence, I am taking this BLIND TEST CHALLENGE to review these products honestly. Although, it is going to take me a few washes before reviewing it, I cannot wait to tell you all about it.  Since, it already smells great, I hope it works wonders for my hair.

Are you too a lover of long hair like me? Stay tuned for the review and brand revelation!
